Qardio introduces two new products at CES 2015

QardioBase is the first scale that smiles at you. Innovations of QardioBase include Expressive Feedback, premium design materials and pregnancy mode.

QardioMD lowers the barriers to preventative care for heart health, harnessing the combined power of Qardio’s wearable sensors and high-performance cloud analytics to drive better, more efficient healthcare.

LAS VEGAS (NV), January 5, 2015 – Qardio, Inc., the award-winning maker of digital heart health solutions, today unveiled two new products:

QardioBase starts your day with a smile. QardioBase smart scale and body analyser features Expressive Feedback and haptic responses, premium design materials and pregnancy mode.

QardioMD provides healthcare professionals with richer diagnostic and analytical information to drive better care. This unique multi-patient heart health monitoring tool lowers the barriers to preventative health and increases the resource efficiencies of healthcare provisioning. QardioMD is designed to work alongside Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

QardioBase: Start your day with a smile!
QardioBase is a smart scale that combines health and weight management with innovative and beautiful design. It measures body weight, body fat, muscle, water and bone composition and calculates your BMI with a number of distinctive features:

Friendly and Intelligent: Too many of us obsess over our daily weight fluctuations and are tyrannised by the readout on our bathroom scale. QardioBase introduces Expressive Feedback and haptic responses for a more human experience. In this mode, step on the scale and you will be greeted with a friendly face to let you know how well you are doing against your personal goals. Vibrational signals let you know your readings and analysis are complete and recorded for later review on your phone or tablet.

Elegant Design and Premium Materials: Most scales are ugly, utilitarian designs and materials: plastic, glass or plain  metal. It is no surprise that they are hidden away in closets, behind doors and under beds. QardioBase is made for design-conscious living, with high-end materials and a sleek minimalist design that complements the most elegant of environments. Made with premium natural acrylic stone, a luxury element of modern design that is beautiful, durable and warm to the touch, you will want to showcase your QardioBase in any room.

Pregnancy Mode: QardioBase features a unique Pregnancy Mode that helps mothers-to-be track their progress during this exciting and happy time, both before and after the birth.

For Home Use or On the Go: Other smart scales only manage a small number of users. QardioBase can operate its smart functionalities in semi-public places, like hotels, spas and gyms, linking individual’s data to their personal profiles. With QardioBase the hospitality industry can finally carer for their customers with an elegant scale with smart features.

“With the addition of QardioBase, we add weight and BMI (body mass index) analytics to our existing line of biometric sensors. With Qardio’s integrated ecosystem, users and health care professionals can now track all the core metrics and leading indicators of heart health, the most significant healthcare issue of our time,” said Rosario Iannella, Qardio’s CTO.

QardioBase works with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. It is controlled through an iOS or Android app, which automatically tracks weight and other health information and uploads them to a dedicated cloud service where it can be shared with family, friends or doctors. QardioBase will be available in Spring 2015 with a suggested retail price of $149.

QardioMD: Harnessing data for smarter heart health management
Every year, 360 million US doctor office visits are for northing more than a blood pressure measurement. The annual cost of heart health to the US economy is projected to exceed one trillion dollars within the next few years. Without change, this is unsuitable.

QardioMD is a unique multi-patient heart health monitoring tool that lowers the barriers to preventative health and increases the resource efficiencies of healthcare provisioning. QardioMD’s pervasive remote monitoring has minimal impact on healthcare professional’s daily workflow, replacing the most routine check-ups/office visits and helping keep patients from unexpected hospital visits. At the patient level, QardioMD enables healthcare professionals to visualize, organize, and manipulate the richer and more comprehensive heart health data generated by Qardio’s revolutionary sensors. At the patient group level, QardioMD enables intelligent clustering and actionable prioritisation of patients.

Whether in a large health organization or a single practice, QardioMD seamlessly helps monitor patients’ heart health, resulting in clear benefits to patients, physicians and payers:

Patients have greater peace of mind with more extensive monitoring, and the convenience of fewer routine doctor visits.

Doctors have access to richer, more extensive diagnostic data sets, and can cluster patients, prioritising those with more serious needs, and delegating follow-ups accordingly.

Payers have lower barriers to true preventative care and reap the benefits of a more cost-efficient and scalable healthcare provisioning infrastructure.

“We have created an ecosystem of smart, connected heart health products that fits seamlessly into people’s lives. QardioMD is the physician’s side of the equation: by combining richer data sets from multiple sensors and across longer time periods, QardioMD offers a powerful tool supporting the decision-making of healthcare professionals. This drives the shift towards preventative care, cost efficiency and enhanced diagnostic yields,” said Marco Peluso, CEO of Qardio.

QadioMD will be available to healthcare professionals starting in Spring 2015 and is designed to work alongside Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
